The photos were taken during Priestley's convalescence at the Taumaru (Lowry Bay, Wellington) Military Convalescent Home. The matron was a Mrs Rolleston and the staff were from the Voluntary Aid. The album includes "Whare-rua" (the 2nd House), Mrs Rolleston, staff playing cricket, sister Marshall, Horace Priestly and other patients, Nurses Barkek, Adams, Monckton, Garringe, Millar, Charnley, Hughes, Gubbins, Ruthbone, Chirtcliffe, Nathan, A B Brown, Taylor, Ewen, Smith, Prins, and Allen, Taumaru House, Walter Walland, Lt-Colonel Elliott, Sergeant Major Adnett, Jack Wilson and patients having a game of snooker.
